Long story.
So a few years ago a friend gave me a 10 # spool of Yeswelder 030 flux core wire, when I ran out of wire I opened the box and Liked the way it was packaged and put it into me Miller welder. I did love the way it ran and did a very clean job for me. I told myself when I needed more wire I would buy the Yes Welder wire. Well, as things worked out I retired from almost 50 years as a pipe fitter/ welder sold off my home and all my tools and moved to Mexico to enjoy retirement and relax. Well, that didn't work for me, so no one of my trips back to the states for a visit I picked up a new Lincoln 140MP just to have a hobby. I also got a couple of spools of Lincoln FCW. All was good. When the last spool started to run out I thought I would again use YesWelder wire as I had such good luck with the first spool. So I went on line to get it, but YesWelder can't send it to Mexico, so I used a mail forwarding service. The wire cost me $90.00 US and $88.00 US for shipping. But to me it still good deal, man was I ever wrong. I don't know what you changed in making that wire, but this is pure junk now. After only about using a couple pounds it started to spit and putter and and jam up in the liner you could even feel it moving in the liner as it hit a bad spot on the wire. It has black spots all over it and I think that flux is missing in those spots. I had to change out all the consumables a couple of times as the wire would weld to the tips, I even put in a new liner in still I could not get more than a few inches of weld without trouble. And the smoke, OMG the smoke. I have never seen so much smoke when welding. I have to drive almost 3 hours to the nearest welding store to get stuff, I'm going tomorrow to get some Lincoln FC wire so I can get back to work.
I'm not sure what happened with the Yes welder wire, but I can't use it if I have to change out the tips every time I weld a little bit. Now I have almost 2 full spools of FC wire that can't be used, one still in the box not even opened. I know it is made in China, but it worked good the first time I used it again. But now it is like most trash from China that doesn't work for long or at all. I know that the Lincoln wire is not made in China, or the USA it's made in Mexico and it works all the time. I wish I could upload a picture or video of what is going on with this nasty wire, but I don't know how to do that.
All that said. I do have a Yeswelder cut 55-DS, I have not used it a lot but so far I do love it and it does everything I need in my little shop. I don't make reviews often, but I'm very unhappy with this wire, and just a bit pissed off one might say.
Its a giant spool of wire. Havnt even had a chance to use it yet. But it looks good
Great quality wire and I have enjoyed running it through my YesWelder. I just wish they would have sent me one of the new DP200 welders along with the wire.
Im used to Lincoln wire and this is definitely equal or better.
I had been using a roll of Vulcan that I got from everyone's favorite cheap tool store. It was working OK, but not great. I attributed it to the fact I was using bed frame steel.Started using this today, and the difference was night and day! Much better bead formation with ease! The wire is stiffer, and so it tends to not birds nest in the welder as easily. And, as others noted, much less smoke!Very happy with this wire, when I need more, will be ordering again!
