One machine, many processes. Work out which mix of welding and cutting you actually need before comparing every spec.
For garage, farm, and small-shop work, a modern multiprocess machine covers the large majority of jobs one box at a time. Dedicated machines still make sense when you run one process all day and want the deepest control in it — for most mixed-project users, the flexibility wins.
Start from the process you use most. If plasma cutting is a regular part of your work, weight the clean-cut rating heavily; if you mostly weld and occasionally cut, prioritize the welding side and treat cutting capacity as the tiebreaker.
