This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on yeswelder.com, why we use them, and the choices you have. We review this page whenever the tools we use change.
Essential Cookies (Always On)
These make the store work and cannot be switched off:
- Shopify session and checkout cookies (names beginning with "_shopify") keep your session and checkout working and protect against fraud.
- Our cart cookie ("yw_cart_id") remembers what is in your cart for up to 10 days.
Analytics
These help us understand how the store is used so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics 4 ("_ga" cookies) measures page views, product views, and purchases.
- Shopify Analytics ("_shopify_y", "_shopify_s") provides our store dashboards, such as visit counts and conversion rates.
Advertising & Attribution
These remember how you found us, so we can tell which of our marketing is actually useful:
- A first-party cookie ("yw_attribution") and browser storage ("yw_touches") record how you arrived at our store — for example, a search ad click or a link from a video — for up to 90 days. These are set and read only by us, not by third parties.
- Ad platform identifiers from the advertising platforms we use (currently Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads) may be stored in a cookie or attached to your order when you arrive from one of our ads, so we can credit the right campaign for a sale.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or place an order, Klaviyo (our email service) uses cookies to connect your browsing to your email preferences. This powers things like cart reminders and back-in-stock notices. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
What We Share with Advertising Platforms
When you complete a purchase, we send order details to our analytics and advertising platforms (currently Google Analytics, Google Ads, and ChatGPT Ads) to measure our advertising. We may also share hashed customer lists with these platforms so that we can show ads to existing customers and subscribers, or find people with similar interests. In both cases, personal identifiers — your email address, phone number, name, and address — are protected with one-way SHA-256 hashing before they leave our systems. The platforms can use these hashed values only to match records against their own users; the original details cannot be recovered from them. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your Choices
- Block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The store keeps working, though your cart may not persist between visits. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
- Unsubscribe from marketing using the link in any of our emails — it takes effect immediately.
- Request deletion of your personal information by emailing support@yeswelder.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" from the email address associated with your order (or include your order number so we can verify your identity). We will erase your customer profile and personal details from our store systems, and you will be left out of any customer lists we share with advertising platforms from the next update onward; order records required for tax, accounting, or warranty purposes may be retained where the law requires. We respond to all privacy requests within 45 days, and usually much sooner.
