Mig-250 Pro Upgrade

I am upgrading from a small (90 amp) wire feed welder to a 250 amp mig welder. My first inclination after buying a cart, an Argon tank and other necessary items was to simply set it on synergy mode and practice on 1/4 " steel. It would barely weld correctly. It sputtered and blew spatter all over. After going through the setup again, I switched to manual mode and started changing settings to try to make a decent bead. The realization was that in synergy mode the wire feed sets up way too fast. After turning the speed down from 14 to 11, it started making beads I wasn't afraid to show someone. After a little more adjusting, it appears to be a good machine and I'm very pleased with it.

Good value

This is my first MIG welder. I've had no problems with the welder or the spool gun. I called customer service and someone actually called me back. That may not seem like a big deal, but with some of these new welding companies there is no customer service. So far, so good!!!

Almost impossible to beat for the price

I've used the machine for Flux, MIG, Aluminum, and Stick so far. I can't speak to the TIG function yet but have been very impressed so far. It welds extremely smooth and the synergic functions are great for a beginner. I wish it came with the TIG torch, but for the low price, I'll buy the torch just to play with it. All in all it MIG welds every bit as good as my Lincoln 180, at 1/3 the price, more options and half the weight. Great buy. I also have the CUT55 plasma cutter which works fantastic. I've been very impressed with these yeswelder machines, helmets, and even their wire runs better than some much more expensive wire.
