WT20 (EWTh-2) is a red-tip 2% thoriated tungsten for concentrated, stable DC TIG arcs on steels and other compatible metals. Review the thorium and grinding guidance before use.
Where WT20 Fits
WT20 is primarily used for DC TIG welding where a concentrated, stable arc and dependable starts are required. It is commonly selected for carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium and copper alloys when the welding procedure calls for thoriated tungsten.
Thorium and Grinding
WT20 contains thorium. Grinding can create dust containing low-level radioactive material. Use local exhaust or suitable respiratory protection, consult the product SDS, and collect and dispose of grinding dust in accordance with applicable requirements. Ceriated and lanthanated electrodes are non-radioactive alternatives for many TIG applications.
