Intro 2

Welding may be fun and a lucrative profession, but nobody can deny that it comes with certain dangerous aspects. You have to stay calm while doing it so as not to lose your head – literally. Logically, the main area that you have to protect is your head and face. If you don't, your face might end up looking like a supervillain character.

All jokes aside, the danger caused by welding has to be taken seriously. The most essential piece of protective equipment that you need to have is a welding helmet.

That way, you are not only going to stay handsome but also protect your eyes from flash, light, heat, and radiation exposure, as well as prevent all those sparks from flying everywhere around you and getting into your eyes.

There are a few YesWelder welding helmets we would like to recommend which can be very useful and that just might end up saving your eyesight while working. The best thing about these products is that they come with some really good and advanced features that you don't have to pay a fortune to have. Here at YesWelder, we work hard and diligently to deliver the best protection for the group of people we care about the most – the welding community.

The Anatomy of a Welding Helmet Lens

Before we dive into the plentitude of carefully designed YesWelder helmets, we would like to explain why we use advanced technologies and how they can protect you as their user. The products that welders use today are not at all like those uncomfortable buckets people used to wear in the medieval times of welding. Today's products are much more comfortable and can make it seem as if you are not wearing them at all.

The best types of helmets that we have today are those with auto-darkening technology. The lenses on a welding helmet of this type work similarly to polarized sunglasses that people wear nowadays. The main difference is that the light wave manipulation in a welding helmet lens is much more complicated than with a pair of sunglasses.

An ADF lens works by automatically turning on the protection the moment it senses a spark. The feature will turn on and protect your eyes so you are not going to be squinting all the time while working, which will result in you being able to do a proper job.

The best way to describe these types of helmets is by comparing them to LCDs in consumer electronics. The liquid crystal technology used in those welding helmets works similarly here. When voltage is applied to these crystals, the molecules will shift and relocate themselves in a certain way.

Reaction Time

After explaining ADF, you are probably wondering – how fast does the tech work? The reaction time is the time it takes after striking an arc and turning the lenses dark. Thanks to advanced technology, the transition time boils down to a fraction of a millisecond, and that is one of the reasons why we use it for the production of our helmets.

ADF works with the help of sensors that are able to tell when the arc sparks. If the sensors are faulty, the lenses won't turn dark and you will see a really shiny light. But do not fear, you will not go blind from that as passive protection is still provided with the help of UV/IR filters, which are naturally included in our products.

If the sensors do not work correctly, you will not have a good time while welding as it is annoying and potentially dangerous. Luckily, our YesWelder products are designed to shorten the reaction time as much as possible and make the transition seamless. With great reaction time, you will not be able to tell the difference when the lenses turn dark. Sounds like a good thing, doesn't it? Keep reading; it gets better.

Helmet Technology Advancements

Welding helmet technology moves with the times, and we are witnessing new advancements being made each day. We in YesWelder are always aware of these, and we want to make sure that you are able to pick a good and suitable helmet that will improve the job at hand among the many products that we offer.

One of the most recent advancements of ADF technology is allowing more colors to come through the filters. This allows the worker to see the welding area much clearer and ultimately perform better.

Advancements in helmet comfort have also been made. Making a helmet light is one thing, but creating it to be perfectly balanced is another. When the weight is evenly spread out across your head, you are not going to feel the strain and will be able to weld longer without pressure on your neck and shoulder area. Since we know that these might present an issue for you and your welding, we are constantly trying to customize and adjust our products to fit your every welding need.

YesWelder MIG Welders Collection

After giving you an overview of modern welding helmet technology, we would like to introduce you to some products that YesWelder has to offer, some of which will most likely suit your needs.

Auto Darkening, True View Welding Helmet | M800HP

The True View Welding Helmet from YesWelder is a product aimed at all kinds of welding. You can use it for TIG, MIG, MMA, and plasma cutting with a grinding feature. The viewing area is satisfactory at 3.93 "X 3.66" and comes with four sensors.

The response time coming at <1/10000 second is standard for these types of helmets and will not waste not even a tiny bit of your precious time. It has a DIN 4 light, DIN 5 dark state, and UV/UI lens protection measured at DIN 16 which goes hand in hand with helmets of the same type.

One of the things we really like about it is the comfort provided with the pivot-style headgear, but it is worth mentioning that the headband could be an issue with bigger heads since it can be a bit uncomfortable in that case. It is not going to put too much strain on your neck, and the helmet is strong enough to accompany you in any kind of welding adventure as it is made out of quality materials.

What we like the most about this product is being able to see the weld in true color through the lens as the mask comes with a true-color view with 1/1/1/2 optical clarity. The only downside is that you have to tinker a bit to adjust it, but that can be done pretty easily.

While it is not groundbreaking when it comes to welding helmet technology and it is not intended as such, this helmet definitely serves its purpose for those who buy it. In addition, it is a great deal for the price you pay.

Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with Panoramic View | 302C

Our Yeswelder 302C is a unique auto-darkening welding helmet that is meant for professional work without breaking the bank.

What comes as the most interesting feature of this helmet is the panoramic view it offers. The welding helmet has three viewing screens that auto-darken and do so independently. While there are a few helmets that offer a panoramic view, they are usually way more expensive. Yeswelder brings you this feature at a decent price.

The panoramic view can be exceptionally helpful when working in a crowded area or a worksite where increased awareness is preferred. Sometimes it is beneficial to stay aware of what is happening outside of the weld focus point.

This helmet has 6 auto-darkening sensors which are responsible for exceptional response time. It is meant for all three main welding processes, MIG, TIG, Stick, and of course plasma cutting. There is also grinding support.

It offers a wide shade level of DIN5-9 and 9-13 with the grinding shade tuned at DIN4. The helmet has a great battery life and offers superior optical clarity of 1/1/1/1 rating. The true color view will help you see colors more naturally than with regular cheap brands while the optical clarity will help in providing a non-distorted image as you work.

The Yeswelder 302C has a big frontal viewing area of 3.94x2.64 inches and side windows of 1.38/2.56x2.36 inches. The helmet arrives with a replacement lens (including the side lens), replacement battery, storage bag, and headgear.

Atomic Dice x YesWelder | The Aggressor Q800D

The Atomic Dice x YesWelder is another limited-edition welding mask that we offer. It was designed by Bob McElroy, the official artist of YesWelder, who dubbed this one "The Aggressor." The helmet works for TIG, MIG, MMA, and Plasma in grind mode.

The viewing area is definitely sufficient at 3.93 "X3.23, but it is a bit smaller than the previously described helmet. It comes with the standard 4 premium sensors and a response time of <1/10000 seconds. The same thing goes for the light state at DIN 4, dark state at DIN 5, and UV/UR protection rated at DIN 16.

The feature that makes this helmet more suitable for certain welders when compared to the first one that we described is that The Atomic Dice x YesWelder adds a non-ADF side view. This is great for inside welding, but you should also be aware of the fact that it can cause light from your weld to appear very bright in your side view when you weld outdoors. Some welders might not be bothered by this, but others will find it uncomfortable and, since we care about our customers, we want to let you know of this characteristic. However, if you do not have an issue with this, we wholeheartedly recommend it.

Apart from its unique design, this is a standard welding mask with some pretty interesting features. The only thing that we consider to be a flaw is the price - it is a bit too much for what it offers. Notwithstanding, it garnered a lot of positive reviews, and we are unquestionable of the same opinion.

Atomic Dice x YesWelder | The Clown 302C

Atomic Dice x YesWelder the clown 302C is an auto-darkening welding helmet that was created as a collaborative effort between us and the Atomic Dice. It is a limited collection item of our panoramic YesWelder 302C helmet line.

The most distinctive feature of this helmet when compared to its regular version, YesWelder 302C, is its paint job. The helmet was designed to feature a clown paint job that perfectly compliments the panoramic wide view multi-viewing area configuration.

Besides its unique paint job, this helmet represents a bit more exotic choice for professional welders. You won't just get the envious looks from your colleagues for the design but for the features the helmet has.

The wide panoramic view will help you in any professional welding engagement because you will be able to see more of the work area and will have a better spatial awareness. The helmet also has 6 auto-darkening sensors that allow the front and side viewing panels to auto darken independently and synchronously with exceptional response times. You don't have to worry about receiving a side flash.

The top 1/1/1/1 optical clarity will give you a real-life dimension feel of the work that is in front of you. No distortion thanks to the clarity of the material used for glass, optimal light transmittance, and angle of light transmittance. 1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating means that you won't experience blurriness, dark areas or problems with viewing objects at an angle.

The hood will give you a wide shade range of DIN 5-9 and 9-13. It also has a grinding mode of DIN4 shade level. It is meant for working with MIG, TIG, Stick processes, and plasma cutting.

The pivot-style headgear is adjustable and made with comfort in mind. The headgear can be fully adjusted to your needs and includes the ability to adjust the distance between the nose and the auto-darkening filter.

Summary

We all agree that protecting your eyes is crucial while welding. Having a comfortable welding helmet that doesn't put a strain on your neck will prove to be very important in the long run, trust us. In the production process, we also included several carefully chosen extra features that come with these products as well for your comfort and ease. For YesWelder, the safety and comfort of welders are our top priorities, and in all of our products, we strive to combine the two in order to create the best possible working conditions for you.
